How to Integrate THE

Feminine

Here are the feminine principles and things to think about when integrating women's wellness into your yoga classes.

The feminine is all about taking things SLOW and YUMMY Especially for the Menstrual Phase. You will hear me say yummy A LOT! For me this word really encompasses the feeling of the feminine flow. There are other energies to feel into but this is a good place to start!

Yoga teaching

Breath

The breath is SUCH an important place to honour and connect. ALWAYS start your session dropping into the body and connecting. I always start by asking my pupils where they can feel the breath in their body. For me breath is number one when it comes to connecting in!

Honour

Que lots of gentle reminders for people to be able to be themselves;

'whatever feels good to them'

'what does your body want to do'

'what feels nice to you today'

how can we be kinder to our bodies'

'feel the yummy'

Slow

Slow the practice down, think about the intricacies of the feelings of the movement, rather than rushing through. How can you enjoy the movement slowly, nourishing, think almost sensual. Bring in mindful practices to slow the class down.

Meditation

Heart

Support women to connect with their heart, help them find that deeper relationship and find the joy that is always there. These connections and discoveries is what makes women feel more emotional in these classes.

Womb

Gently support women connect with their womb through meditation, movement and exploration.

It's up to you how much you focus on information regarding the cycle, but a gentle guidance to connect can be powerful. Remember to remind women that this is an important practice whether you have a physical womb or not, our energetic womb is still present and our root voice wants to connect with us.

Share

At the beginning of every class I ALWAYS lead a gently share.

This create a rhythm that the women love. We focus on three aspects.

How our

Hearts Feel

Minds Feel

Bodies Feel

Learn your pupils names and ask them how they feel one by one. You always go first to break the ice. BE HONEST with how you are feeling so they feel comfortable to be honest too!
